Sunday 9th March The Mays Anthology publishes the best new student writing and visual art from Cambridge and Oxford Universities. Submissions for publication in the 2014 edition are now open! Special consideration may be given to works that demonstrate formal inventiveness. *SUBMISSIONS GUIDELINES* INDIVIDUAL: No more than three individual submissions in any mode (poetry, fiction, drama, screenplay, the essay, graphic novel, visual arts, or any other genre), up to a total of four A4 pages. Each piece of work should start on a new page. INNOVATION: The Mays #22 will emphasize formal and generic inventiveness. We are hoping to see new and exciting interpretations of poetic forms, narrative genres and methods of image creation. FORMATTING GUIDELINES: Literary submissions should be saved as .docx or .doc and formatted in Times New Roman font, size 12. Poetry submissions should be a maximum of 60 lines; prose submissions should be a maximum of 2500 words. Please state in your accompanying email which, if any, of your submissions are excerpts from longer works. Visual arts pieces should be submitted in .tiff or .jpg format, at a minimum image standard of 300 dpi. HOW TO SUBMIT: Email your submissions to mays22submissions@gmail.com by 11:59pm on 09/03/2014. Submissions must not have been previously published. MAYS MENTORING: The Mays Anthology runs a mentoring programme for undergraduates. Places are limited. Please state in your email if you wish to be considered for the scheme. Good luck! We look forward to receiving your work. |
